Community Groups

Adamsdown is an area with a lot of activity going on and managed in different ways by a host of groups, individuals and organisations. These range in scale from massive organisations like parts of the Health Service and Council deptartments, to very small scale (but no less valuable) run by small groups and individuals, often giving their time free as volunteers. They are always looking for input from residents who can help by commenting on services provided, gaps in provision and in many cases getting more directly involved by volunteering and managing activities.

To help promote their presence and encourage greater involvement and comment, the Adamsdown Communities First will try to provide up to date information on what these organsiations are doing and how to get involved. You can always pop in to the Resource Centre to find out more or better still join one of the many groups yourself.

For ease of sharing knowledge of what they do, we have divided them up into different types, depending on their size and what they do, into categories which include small local organisations, service providers (including national charities) and social enterprises. Most of the planning and activities of the Communities First Project are delivered via our Action Groups.
