Education Life Long Learning / Business & Jobs Over the last year these two groups have combined in an effort to work towards helping the local community to develop the skills they need to join or develop in the work force. The group which is made up of local service providers and works over both Adamsdown and Splott Communities First areas have been responsible for bringing the very successful Retail Works training course into the area. The course which had been developed to link in with the saint David’s 2 redevelopment was successful completed by 12 member of the local community giving them the skills they need to start working in retails.Basic skills courses run in the centre weekly and other training is available through partners working in the area.The group has also been working with local business’ and helped organise a Christmas carnival on Clifton St. This was a great fun and the plan is to make it an annual event. We are also working with traders to set up a website for local business’ in the area. We have also worked with groups in the area looking to establish social enterprises and helped with funding and advice.
